Containers are graded according to their age, condition and appearance, ranging from New/ One-Trip through to used Grade A, B and C containers. The right grade will depend on your requirements and how important appearance is.

We offer 20ft (6m) and 40ft (12m) shipping containers for rental and purchase in South Africa, including standard and High Cube options. Availability may vary depending on the container type, grade and location.
The right refrigerated container depends on the temperature you need, the available power supply and how quickly your products need to be cooled or frozen.
Available in 3m, 6m and 12m sizes, our reefers provide temperature-controlled storage from +20°C to -35°C and can maintain temperatures within approximately 0.3°C of the required set point. They require a three-phase 380V power supply and are suitable for fresh produce, frozen foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals and other temperature-sensitive products.
Our 3m and 6m chillers operate between +2°C and +10°C using a single-phase 220V power supply. They provide a convenient alternative to a traditional cold room where chilled storage is required.
Our 3m single-phase freezers operate between -10°C and -25°C using a 220V single-phase power supply, providing frozen storage where three-phase power is not available.
Available in 6m and 12m sizes, our custom-built blast freezers are designed for rapid freezing rather than simply maintaining a frozen temperature. They help reduce freezing times and preserve product quality and shelf life, making them particularly suitable for food production and processing.

Yes. Shipping containers can be modified for a wide range of applications. While Almar South Africa does not carry out container conversions directly, we can recommend suitable companies that specialize in container modifications and conversions should you need assistance.
